My girlfriend volunteers with Tundra Swan Watch at Rieck’s Lake just before you enter Alma. Breakfasts at the Pier 4 Cafe and weekends spent at The Laue House ($30.00 per night in a restored mansion) mean that it’s cheaper to weekend in Alma than Minneapolis.

actually, i’m glad you posted. what is the best way to find out where the swans are and when they come to rieck’s lake?

The Tundra Swan posts updates as to numbers spotted and when… The first few start showing up about a month or so before Rieck’s Lake freezes over, and they keep arriving until Rieck’s Lake freezes over.
